The Common Misconception

Most players assume multipliers stack additively. They don't. Roblox The Forge uses a modified geometric-weighted formula where each additional ore contributes progressively less.

The Actual Stacking Formula

First ore contributes 100% of its rolled multiplier. Second ore contributes 80%. Third ore contributes 75%. So a 5x ore in the third slot only adds 3.75x effective boost — anchor your recipe with the highest-multiplier ore first.

What This Means for Recipes

You get more damage from swapping mid-tier ores for higher-tier ones than from just adding more ores. Quality > quantity for damage output.

When Stacking Still Works

Trait activation is binary: is the carrier ore in your recipe or not? So even a low-multiplier ore like Emerald (2.3x) can be worth including for its Regeneration trait. The optimal recipe balances multiplier with trait diversity.
